Green Bay Packers OLB Mike Neal has at least admitted his like for Green Bay winters, and even more importantly said that he has been re-signed by the Green Bay Packers by a tweet he sent out about 30 minutes ago.
Here is what he tweeted out:
Hi Green Bay!!! I’ll enjoy your winters for two more years!!

Neal’s signing has broken the free agent signing drought by the Packers. Not since the Packers signed cornerback Sam Shields a few days ago have the Packers even come close to sniffing the market.
Here is what Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press Gazette tweeted out minutes after Neal’s tweet:
League source confirms @mneal96 has re-signed with Packers

This is a sweet announcement and a welcomed announcement for Packers fans. Though the dollar numbers weren’t available immediately, we all know that Ted Thompson isn’t going to overpay – we can be assured this is a value signing.
If Neal can stay healthy, he will come back to the Packers with a year under his belt as an outside linebacker after having made the switch from defensive end last season.
This signing should also position the Packers to continue on the road to signing more of their own. There hasn’t been any news about Evan Dietrich-Smith – another of the Packers’ targets in free agency. Though he was visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there are many who still feel he could be back with the Packers.
Stay tuned …
