Rich Gannon over Brett Favre? Ahahahahahaha

Yes, the NFL.com’s fan poll attempting to find the “Greatest QB Ever” has gotten off to a rocky start … just ask Brett Favre and Rich Gannon.

In fact, the poll is officially a joke.

If you haven’t seen the poll, check it out here before moving on or review it below.

As you can see above, Gannon outpolled Favre and has moved on to the second round of the poll in the Millenials bracket, along with Donovan McNabb, Steve Young, and Drew Bledsoe.

Not only was Favre beaten in this poll by a lesser QB, but so was Kurt Warner (outpolled by McNabb) and Troy Aikman (outpolled by Bledsoe) – let’s see, how many Super Bowl championships do Gannon, McNabb, and Bledsoe have? Right – the answer is zero.

While the fans seem to have gotten it right in most of the other divisions, it seems someone with a sick sense of humor hijacked the Millenials bracket and skewed the results – making a mockery of the entire program.

As a Packers fan, I’m appalled by the results here. As a football fan, I’m embarrassed.

The only consolation as a fan is that two other Packers QBs Aaron Rodgers and Bart Starr, are still alive into the second round of this poll.

My hope is that the fans get it right the rest of the way. Stop the bleeding now and if the end result is a QB that could at least be argued as the best, I’ll be OK with that.

But it’s very clear the voting is off to a rocky start.

Don’t know what you’re mocking. Rich Gannon was a phenomenal qb! It took him longer to reach his prime, but while in KC and in Oakland his game was on point. Favre was great, too — I still think SB 32 was the greatest SB ever — but if I had to choose between 96′/97′ Favre and 01′/02′ Gannon, personally, I’d have to go with the later. However, that’s not me saying Gannon had a longer/more successful career. IMHO, Gannon just had something special those few years. Although it was short-lived, it was almost magical to watch. Loved Brett Favre but Gannon, if not for the ‘Tuck Rule’ and the Gruden/Barrett Robins SB fiasco, was a SB caliber (winning) qb. He should have won MVP two years in a row instead of just one.

How many mvp’s does Gannon have how many passing records this is a freakin joke it’s like picking Kevin brown over Greg Maddux brown was a good pitcher but Maddux is clearly better

Two consecutive pro bowl mvp’s. Passing records? Theres a reason he was the MVP in 02′.

Tough question to ask here in Packer country….i don’t think people in this area watched Gannon enough to know how good he was…Gannon had a couple of really good years….
