Packers vs. Seahawks

The second game I will be looking forward to most is the matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Everyone will have this game in mind as one of the more significant for obvious reasons – the Seahawks are the champions and of course because of the “Fail Mary.” However, even more importantly, this will be the Packers’ bell weather game in 2014. If it’s played early in the schedule it will indicate where the Packers as a team stand; if it’s played late in the season, it will have significant impact on divisional and playoff standings.

Everyone wishes this game were to be played at Lambeau Field. For me, it’s even more important for the Packers to go back to the West Coast to make their stand. It will be a statement game for Green Bay – one that could have redemptive implications as well as provide an indication of where the team stands among the elite.

Even with Aaron Rodgers back in the saddle and healthy, Green Bay is still a team with much to prove and doing it against the very best on the road in Seattle will go a long way in making that statement.

Expect Green Bay to be a much different team than they were when they last lost to Seattle. The Packers will be a team with a solid and balanced offensive attack – you might remember the last time the two teams met and Rodgers being sacked seven times in the first half because of their uncertain running game. That shouldn’t be the case this time around.

These are just two games out of the 16 on the schedule … which games do you think will be important for the Packers in 2014?
