The first of its kind, according to a press release from the site, GreenBayPackersLovers.com sets out to pair up green-and-gold clad men and women wherever they may be. A recent check showed 150 male members of the site and 182 female. Most appeared to be from Wisconsin, but that could just be the beginning.
“Green Bay Packers fans are the most loyal fans around,” said Kelly Davis, founder of website, in the release. “Just look at Pack’s die-hard fans that tackle the brutally cold winters to storm outside and cheer on the Pack Attack.”
Packers fans looking for cheesehead love may not have a better option, unless they want to hit on singles at games and scrimmages. But those activities are still weeks away.
Imagine the spirited conversations you can have about whether or not the Packers should re-sign Jermichael Finley. Or the fun you can have watching the games every Sunday wearing matching cheesehead hats and eye black. Heck, who wouldn’t look back longingly on a first date on the opening of the NFL draft, which is right around the corner?
A wink. A nod. And then, “Hey hot stuff – who do you think Ted Thompson will draft with the 21st overall pick?”
“This is a state-of-the-art dating website,” Kelly said, “with the ability to participate in forums, real time full-featured chat with members, send messages, receive messages, send winks, build a friends and hot people list, ban others from contacting you, see who has visited your profile, see who has winked at you, upload photos and decide whether they’ll be private or public, and even a built in calendar to keep track of important dates and public events planned for the community.”
Break out the beer and kielbasa; it’s spring, and love is in the air.
