While it was rumored for some time that the schedule was to be released today, Tuesday, April 22, the newest information being circulated is that tomorrow is the day.
It’s always an exciting time of year as fans and team officials gear up not only for when and what time they will play the already-released home and away schedule of opponents, but also for the Draft and all of the succeeding offseason training sessions.
Not far off, believe it or not, is training camp.
If you haven’t already been made aware, here is the previously-released home and away schedule for the Green Bay Packers:
Home - Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, Atlanta, Carolina, New England, New York Jets and Philadelphia.
Away - Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Miami and Seattle.
In addition to the yearly three home and away tilts against NFC North Division opponents, some of the more anticipated games will be at home against playoff teams Carolina, New England and Philadelphia, while the most talked about road games will be at New Orleans and Seattle.
There has been some scuttlebutt about the game at Seattle with some saying that the Packers may open against the Super Bowl champion on the Thursday night game of opening weekend.
Others feel it could be San Francisco.
With the Packers’ large national and international following, they might be pegged for the opener – and we can’t go without mentioning the last time the Packers were in Seattle and what we all remember.
So, stay tuned for the league announcement scheduled to be announced Wednesday afternoon.
And get ready to buy your tickets.
