Every Green Bay Packers fan wants to know what the Packers will do with their nine selections in the 2014 NFL draft.

There is no way to perfectly predict how the draft will unfold.  We can’t gain access to every team’s big board.  And we certainly can’t know the mind of Ted Thompson.

However, we can study up on the players who will be in the conversations of war rooms across the country.  This is what I have been doing over the last few weeks.  I have spent my time building round-by-round lists of prospects of interest. These are players I feel the Packers will strongly consider during the days of the draft.

Today I start with prospects of interest in the first round.

I have carefully narrowed my search for the Packers’ 2014 first round pick to three players. I know this is fairly narrow list, but I am also fairly confident in my analysis.I will also go on to explain why some other prospects did not make the cut.

Enjoy my first round prospects of interest.

One of them will likely be the Packers’ first selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

I really like Van Noy as a surprise pick for the Packers in round one. I’ve heard some say the Packers might consider center Weston Richburg in round one, but this seems like a bit of a reach.

I like Ebron, Van Noy, and Shazier. The 1st round is too early for a WR unless you’re certain he’s the next Calvin Johnson or AJ Green. Special LBs, Ss, and TEs aren’t as common as special WRs. I don’t think Calvin Pryor is a 1st round pick, but Clinton-Dix would be worth it if he fell to 21. Van Noy and Shazier might be able to be traded up for in the second, though. I’d take Mosley, probably.
