The Green Bay Packers will three selections in the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft tonight, but you already knew that.

Much speculation has been spewed over the past three months about who would be the best fit and which positions should be targeted by the Packers.

Last night we saw the Packers address their dire need at safety by selecting Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the first round … we felt it was a great pick.

And with tonight’s second night of the Draft we will continue tonight here at Lombardiave.com by following the draft process from the first pick by the Houston Texans to the last pick.

What happens in between, including who will land in Green Bay, will be played out over the next three-plus hours.

We invite you to stick around here and join the conversation by leaving comments below in the comment section.

As Packers fans, we want to have some fun again tonight while things progress. We want to keep it clean and we want to speculate and comment on each pick as teams hit the clock.

Enjoy the festivities, break out the popcorn and beverages and let’s have some fun.

Good pick. Could be their answer in the slot.

  • Tim Thomas

Many people like Jarvis Landry and I think he can be a solid slot guy. I see Seattle taking Morgan Moses and trying to develop him, could be the right organization to get Moses to work hard though Moses has tons of bust potential

    • David Burdette

It would be a good pick, and the Seahawks would have managed to grab the guy later rather than earlier.

  • Tim Thomas

Seattle reaches for OT Justin Britt out of Missouri I think

  • Tim Thomas

I have Louis Nix going here to Houston

    • David Burdette

Don’t think they get worried and force McCarron or Murray?

  • David Burdette

Deep wide out class showing off this round.

  • David Burdette

    Well, we aren’t going TE.

    • Dan

      I know. Right.

  • Tim Thomas

Well there goes Fiedorowicz. I think Louis Nix goes to Washington now

  • David Burdette

In the words of Dan, “DANGIT.”

  • Tim Thomas

Eventually, Louis Nix will go off the board but who knows, maybe the Packers will somehow get him but I think he goes to Washington here

  • David Burdette

    Good value for Moses here.

  • Tim Thomas

There goes Morgan Moses. This is the point where Morgan Moses boom or bust potential makes him a value but he must improve his on the field work ethic or he will be a bust

  • David Burdette

Maimi with Nix or Gabe Jackson?

    • Tim Thomas

Actually, I’ll go with Gabe Jackson who I think has been vastly underrated and can be a Pro Bowler

  • Tim Thomas

I have Miami taking Louis Nix after losing Paul Solai this offseason

  • Dan

I got to leave for a bit gentlemen. It’s been fun. I might try to rejoin you before the Packers pick.

    • David Burdette

Sounds good sir! Don’t say Dangit too much.

      • Dan

        Hehe : )

  • Tim Thomas

Billy Turner goes to Miami and that’s it for me tonight. I’ll be back some tomorrow for the long final day of the draft. Hopefully the Packers can make a couple of good picks tonight

  • David Burdette

And Billy Turner. Right position to pick for.

  • David Burdette

As its more or less me and my phone is dying imma hafta join the rest of the crew and say goodnight Lombardiave. Go Pack Go!

  • RayRivard

    Thanks, David

  • RayRivard

I had to step away. Tim, you still there?

  • RayRivard

    Is Nix still out there?

  • Dan

Alright, I’m back. How’s it going?

  • Josh McPeak

anybody still on? we getting ready to be on the clock

  • Dan

Nix could be an option for the Packers in RD 3. Maybe a CB like Desir or Watkins.

  • Dan

    Predictions?

  • Dan

I don’t think TE or C are options at this point.

  • Josh McPeak

    Skov

  • Dan

    Texans just took Nix. Nevermind.

  • Josh McPeak

    Shayne Skov come on Pack!

  • Josh McPeak

    On the clock!!!

  • Dan

I think the Packers go OLB with Carl Bradford, Jackson Jeffcoat, or Chris Smith.

  • Dan

    Maybe Jordan Zumwalt at #98.

  • Dan

Sleeper pick here. Brent Urban DE out of Virginia.

  • Dan

    Here we go . . .

    • RayRivard

      I like the Urban pick

  • Dan

The Packers take Khyri Thornton DT Southern Miss

  • Dan

I’m not going to lie. I know nothing about him. lol

  • Josh McPeak

another Southern Miss guy…they never work out!

  • Dan

Confusing pick here. Seems odd for a 3-4 team.

  • Dan

    Thornton is 6-3, 304. 39 tackles, 6.5 TFL, .5 sack in 2013.

  • Josh McPeak

    ? This is Thompson”s $ rounds

    • Dan

We’ll see what he does at #98. What has shocked me is he hasn’t traded down once yet. That’s usually his MO.

  • RayRivard

Dan, have you looked into this guy yet?

  • Dan

Not really. I posted his ’13 stats below. Seems like a tough, high-energy guy. Not sure why he wasn’t on many people’s radar.

  • Dan

He seems like an odd fit in a 3-4 system.

  • Dan

I’d like the Packers to go LB at 98. I’m thinking Jordan Zumwalt from UCLA, or an outside guy like Carl Bradford from Arizona State.

  • Dan

My top rated players left for the Packers at #98: CB Pierre Desir, DE/OLB Jackson Jeffcoat, LB Jordan Zumwalt, DE Brent Urban, DT DaQuan Jones, OLB Carl Bradford, CB/S Jaylen Watkins

  • Dan

Packers on the clock. What’s the pick?

  • Dan

The Packers take TE Richard Rodgers at 98. Versatile receiving TE from CAL.

  • RayRivard

What do you think of this Rodgers, Dan?
