The Green Bay Packers got their tight end with their second pick in the third round tonight – a compensatory pick.
, a 6-4 tight end with the same last name as the guy who will be throwing him passes this coming season, also went to Cal, the same university that Aaron attended way back when.
Rodgers is the latest pick by the Packers, joining Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix, Davante Adams and Khyri Thornton, a defensive tackle out of Southern Miss, who was selected with the first of two the third-round picks tonight. That one was the 85th pick in the 2014 draft.
The Packers used their first of their two compensatory picks on Rodgers, who evened out the Packers distribution of offensive and defensive choices this year.
What’s really amazing is that Ted Thompson hasn’t pulled a single trade in this year’s draft. He’s stayed put in all three rounds, but there are still four round coming on Saturday.
