Arizona State outside linebacker Carl Bradford was selected by the Green Bay Packers with their fourth round pick this afternoon.
Don’t know much about the guy?
Well, here’s what he had to say about the Green Bay Packers and being drafted by the NFC North Division champion – this according to Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press Gazette:
*I talked to Packers at combine. From there I didn’t know if they had interest in me. Today I was ecstatic.
*I didn’t care where I was picked, I just have a job now. Excited to be part of Packers organization. Waiting was difficult part.
*Probably outside backer is my specialty but I will play where they need me.
*I broke down in tears thinking how proud my late father is of me. He’s here in my heart and spirit. He’s amazing.
*Losing father was most difficult thing I went through in my life. Will never forget he died in my arms. I play for him, I play through him. Gives me strength and motivation. When it first happened I was lost. My Lord Jesus Christ helped me through it.
*I feel comfortable standing up, prefer it better, can see what’s going on more, can see the ball. It gives me better jump on game.
*Key to being good pass rusher is to know your opponent, study him, know what they like to do, always have couple moves to beat them.
*I’m pretty close with Gerhart family.
*I believe I’m versatile and smart and could be very effective outside or inside. I would enjoy inside as well.
*Only dropped in coverage a few times in college. I think I did a pretty good job at it.
*Yeah, the refs got it correct at end of controversial Wisconsin game. I thought he grounded ball, but it doesn’t matter, we still won. Getting the win however you can.
*I have great lower body strength, so I use leverage.
