The Seventh Round has arrived, the end of the 2014 NFL Draft is in sight. this is where GMs can continue to not relax with this round and the UFA targets

  • Dan

Baltimore takes Wake Forest WR Michael Campanaro. I like Campanaro’s game a lot. He’s a utility player. Good value in the 7th round.

  • Dan

Any early predictions for the Packers’ last pick at 236?

  • Tim Thomas

If Kelcy Quarles is there at 236, the Packers have to take him because there will be value most likely at ILB and at backup QB

    • Dan

I agree, but I have a hunch they’ll pass on him. I don’t get why so many people are passing on Quarles. I think people attribute his production to playing alongside Clowney, but I don’t think that does his game justice.

      • Tim Thomas

Not just Quarles, but also Jackson Jeffcoat, James Gayle, Shayne Skov, Max Bullough, Jack Tyler, Marcus Roberson, Seantrel Henderson, Antonio Richardson, Tevin Reese, Arthur Lynch, A.C. Leonard, James Hurst, Henry Josey, Ahmad Dixon, Craig Loston, Victor Hampton, Loucheiz Purifoy, Connor Shaw. Big reason why this draft is one of the best ever, there is tons a lot of talent still available

        • Dan

Completely agree. That’s quite the list, and add to that WRs Brandon Coleman and Mike Davis and LBs Yawin Smallwood and Christian Jones.

  • RayRivard

Yeah, I don’t understand why Quarles is still there … hmmmm

  • Dan

So far the Packers haven’t take a player we did a Q&A with, Ray. Oh well.

    • RayRivard

      dang it

      • Dan

We’ll have to try again next year. Maybe they’ll sign a few as UFAs. That’s my hope, anyways.

  • Dan

This draft has been baffling, but like you said Tim I think that attests to its depth. A lot of good players will go undrafted. UFA signings will be really interesting to watch.

  • Dan

Alright, the Packers pick coming up. I’m afraid to even guess. I would go ILB here with Yawin Smallwood or Christian Jones, or Quarles like Tim mentioned. But we’ll see.

  • Tim Thomas

I think Green Bay should go with Quarles, Skov, or Connor Shaw but this pick will be interesting

    • Dan

Probably a guy we’ve never heard of. lol

      • Tim Thomas

Who knows maybe we can influence Green Bay to take Quarles or to sign him as a UFA. Ray, do you think we could start a #QuarlesToPackers trend?

        • Dan

          Hahaha

          • Tim Thomas

You never know what could work haha

  • Dan

Another guy out there that is a developmental player that I have forgot about is Adrian Hubbard. Seems fit as a 3-4 OLB, but his game needs work.

  • Dan

The Packers on the clock with their final pick.

  • Dan

Okay, big surprise here taking another WR. Jeff Janis has size and speed though, so good pick.

  • Tim Thomas

Jeff Janis, a WR out of Saginaw Valley State, goes to the Pack. Don’t know much about him but he is one of the top rated small school WRs

  • Dan

    Jeff Janis 6’3″, 219. 4.42 speed. In 2013 had 83 receptions for 1,572 yards and 14 TDs.

  • Dan

Interesting they went with 3 WRs and no ILBs in the draft.

  • Dan

Some good WR competition in camp this year.

  • Tim Thomas

Janis could be solid value but did the Packers really need to add a third WR. Good pick after the Pack with Seantrel Henderson going to Buffalo

  • Dan

I wonder if they’re hoping a returner emerges between Abbrederis and Janis.

  • Dan

I wonder if they’re hoping a returner emerges between Abbrederis and Janis.

  • Dan

Well it’s been fun, gentlemen. It’ll be interesting to see what they do in UFA. I expect some big signings. Have a good one.

  • Tim Thomas

Alright I’m heading on out. Have fun with the final few picks and hopefully the Packers can get some good UFAs

  • RayRivard

Hey guys! Thank you for carrying the load through this. Your insight was really top-notch. Great Job!

    • Dan

Thank you, Ray! An interesting draft for sure. I’m now excited to see what happens in UFA.

      • RayRivard

That’s where TT really excels. I’m interested, too.
