Having fun with ‘LEGO’ versions of NFL players

Sometimes it’s just fun to laugh at ourselves … especially when it comes to something as serious as the NFL Draft.

Hundreds of millions of dollars ride on the NFL Draft every spring as the newest crop of college players make the leap to the next level. Pretty heady stuff.

But when the folks over at Oyo Sportstoys introduced their mini figurines of “LEGO” 2014 NFL first round selections in this most recent draft, it surely resulted in a few LOLs.

Included, of course, is the Packers first round selection of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. These figurines probably won’t win a prize for best recognizability, but what can you say … what LEGO is?

These versions, though not the real thing, are a great likeness of the toy loved by millions.

And, of course, it’s a great way to make light of a serious subject like the NFL.

The last time I looked, Clay Matthews was a white man …

There are versions of the stars that make up each NFL team, including the Packers.

In addition to newcomer Clinton-Dix, the Packers are represented by Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, Eddie Lacy, Randall Cobb, A.J. Hawk and even Jermichael Finley.

What I found most amusing was the version of Clay Matthews – just check out the picture of the web page included here …

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the last time I looked, Clay Matthews was of the caucasian persuasion, right?

So before you get back to all that serious stuff that makes up the thread of NFL media think these days, take a gander of the Oyo figurines … just for fun.
