The Green Bay Packers are hosting the Kansas City Chiefs tonight … an exhibition of backups playing for their professional lives, including Scott Tolzien and Matt Flynn who are fighting for the backup quarterback position.

Behind the play of both those signal callers Green Bay jumped out to a 20-0 lead and went into the locker room leading by a 20-7 margin.

And if there was a battle between the two quarterbacks before the game started, it’s still going on into the second half.

Here are their statistics:

GB Passing CMP ATT YDS YPA TD INT
Scott Tolzien 6 12 65 5.4 1 0
Matt Flynn 4 9 61 6.8 1 0
TEAM TOTALS 10 21 119 5.7 2 0

But there were others who did their best to earn a roster spot on this deep team:

Jeff Janis caught a 33-yard TD pass from Tolzien, while fellow rookie Davante Adams (a lock for a roster spot already) caught another touchdown pass – this one coming from Flynn. Janis also looked smooth on punt returns.

On defense, OLB Jaryone Elliott dominated early in the game and recorded a sack.

The Packers also had a defensive highlights from Jarrett Bush, who picked off a pass.
