The Green Bay Packers sources are leaking information to team beat writers early this morning about unofficial reports of cuts that have been made, but most likely won’t be officially announced until today’s deadline at 3 p.m. CDT.
That said, reports have indicated that three players have already been notified of their cut from the team. Here’s the tweets that have been posted so far:

#Packers are not planning to keep three quarterbacks, according to a source. So it’s Flynn or Tolzien, but not both.

Of course, one of the more interesting competitions in training camp has been the battle for backup quarterback behind starter Aaron Rodgers. Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien both played well in the final preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it was Tolzien who had the best overall camp.
It’s the experience (Flynn) versus youth and arm strength (Tolzien) that will be the deciding factors here.
The decision at backup quarterback and whether the team keeps three quarterbacks or two that will impact the remainder of the roster. That single decision will affect players on the bubble.
As the day progresses, we here at Lombardiave will be watching carefully and reporting updates as the come in. Be sure to watch our Facebook posts and our tweets and retweets on Twitter throughout the day as reports are released.
This should be an interesting day as the Packers move closer to their opening day showdown with the world champion Seattle Seahawks five days from now.
