Aaron Rodgers Ranks Seventh on NFL QB Ratings

To say that Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have been experiencing offensive woes would be an understatement.

Through three weeks of games, the Packers have had their slowest start since … the turtle fell behind the hare in that famous fable.

It’s embarrassing enough to have to go to work and defend your team to a bunch of guys you gloated to about potential during the offseason. And believe me, that’s rough.

But now, we have to suffer through articles and blogs on sports sites all over the world talking about Aaron Rodgers’ decline in production.

Aaron Rodgers is THE best quarterback in the game today, it’s been hailed, it’s been written, it’s cast in stone.

Cue NFL.com’s weekly Quarterback Power Rankings, where Rodgers is currently situated at seventh amoung all 32 active QBs. Seven out of 32, you say? Well, that’s not that bad.

WRONG.

That’s terrible.

Aaron Rodgers is THE best quarterback in the game today, it’s been hailed, it’s been written, it’s cast in stone.

Through the first three weeks of this (so far) horrendous start to a season, Rodgers is currently ranked behind Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers and Peyton Manning.

OK, so Peyton is always lights out. Russell Wilson is a third round draft pick that is obviously a freakin’ steal. Matty Ice is coming off his worst NFL season ever, Philip Rivers can’t win a playoff game to save his life, and Andrew Luck is now Mr. Incredible all of a sudden, even though he is always working his way out of a deficit to win or lose the game at the very last possible second (unless of course it’s against the Jaguars).

I just can’t, in good conscience, allow people to believe these rankings as fact.

Although it is kind of hard to argue my point when the Packers’ offense has been absolutely deplorable against a beatable Seahawks team, Geno Smith and now a severely understaffed Lions secondary.

I can’t believe my eyes through the first 12 quarters of football, this year. I want to make the case for Rodgers topping the rankings list again, I really do. But actions speak louder than words, don’t they?

So, here’s an open letter to Aaron Rodgers, saying: it’s time to take these rankings back!

Aaron,

Hey, it’s Packers Nation here. Just one quick thing, um … yeah, what is going on inside your brain?

I was just wondering because some people are saying it’s Olivia Munn, some are saying that you’ve lost a little something; I mean, I don’t believe those things. I mean, good for you, definitely find happiness with Olivia. I hope you guys grow old together and produce prodigy quarterback children, I really do.

But Aaron, buddy, guy, pal – we need ya to get things back on track and we kind of need you to do it like … yesterday.

The season may seem young right now but we can feel it slipping away. We’re holding on by our fingernails, Aaron, and we know it isn’t all your fault but think about this: when you’re topping quarterback ranking charts, we are winning football games, Aaron! We’re winning them!

We don’t want to see you ranked SEVEN. It’s not right, it’s blasphemous, really. Bring the green and gold back to the top, Aaron. Get your buddies Cobb and Nelson and light a fire under the run game and just … just … get it back.

We’re still behind you but … we can’t relax … not yet.
Thanks!

PS: also, just one more thing: would really like to pop back up to the tippy top of the rankings by annihilating da BEARS this week. Do what you can.
