Brian invited me onto his show yesterday and we had a great time for a little more than 10 minutes talking about the Packers just before the team started their OTAs.

On the agenda for discussion were the topics of James Starks and Mason Crosby and what their futures with the Packers looked like; which training camp position battles should be the most compelling to watch; which rookie will be the most fun to watch; and just for good measure because his name alway comes up in discussion, we talked a bit about Brett Favre and when the Packers will look at bringing him back to retire his number and honor him as a member of the Packers family.

Frankly, I’ll talk Packers with just about anyone who will listen, so when Brian invited me onto his show, I was not only honored, but really excited to talk with a live person about the team we all know and love.

And you can probably tell through the podcast that this was a great opportunity not only to plug this website, but to hang out and talk Packers.

To all who are regular readers here at Lombardiave.com – and those who are new to our site:

It’s been a tough week personally for me here at Lombardiave.com … if you may have noticed that the number of posts on the site has dropped from the recent past, you’re right. I’ve had a tough week on the physical front and because of that haven’t been able to work as much as I expected.

For that I apologize and ask that you have patience and continue coming back for the best Packers stories you have come to expect.

I simply wanted to write this note to let all of our readers know that what you’ve come to expect will continue.

In fact, in the very near future you will see stories about the offensive line, the draft and probably about running backs … among others … in addition to any other news that I can find and comment about.

As always, I’m open to suggestions and comments from everyone. This has been an incredible offseason for the Green Bay Packers and we here at Lombardiave.com are really excited about everything that’s bound to happen … the big signings from Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews, the release of the schedule, the draft, the OTAs and

We plan to be here to bring you that fresh introspect you’ve come to expect. Thanks again for you continued interest in the Packers and, of course …

GO! PACK! GO!

The regular referees are back, the season is one-quarter of the way done, but there’s still three months of the season to write about (and one more when the Packers make the playoffs).

Here at Lombardiave.com, we are in need of writers who have a deep interest the Packers, the National Football League and all related issues that surround the game. Maybe you are a draft junkie, maybe you enjoy following fantasy football, maybe you really get off following the developments of free agency. If so, we are looking for your expertise.

What’s really cool is that with your contributions, you will help our site grow and become the go-to place of all Packers fan websites on the Web. What’s even better is that if you’re looking for an audience on which to bounce your ideas, consider that Fansided.com now has partnered with Sports Illustrated where your stories will be posted directly on the si.com Packers team page. How’s that for exposure.

If you’re interested in writing regularly on lombardiave.com, take a trip on over to our blogger application site, fill it out and we’ll get you going.

There has already been so much to talk about this season. Keep it going by joining lombardiave.com and letting everyone know how you feel.

That’s what happened yesterday when I received an email from a fellow by the name of Jay Platt, a writer for a website called The Sports Riot! .

This past week, Jay had been writing some incredibly fun and well-written articles about Green Bay, Wisconsin, and focusing on the Packers. The final blog in the series was posted yesterday and listed some of his favorite blog sites – this one included.

I’m honored and really give much of the credit to the talents behind the scenes – all the folks over at fansided.com. They have provided the tools and the opportunity to be a part of their team. Since April of last year it’s been quite a run to get this site up and running – thanks to all of you who have clicked on our link and come here on a regular basis.

As one of the five sites he cited in his blog, “Packers Fans Speak (and they do it well),” Lombardiave.com joins an elite group that includes Acme Packing Company, Cheesehead TV, Packers Gab, and Total Packers.

I suggest you bookmark those sites, too, as they are some of my favorites. We all have one thing in common: Our love for the Packers franchise and a love of writing about the team – good and bad.

Jay’s description of our site is as follows:

Lombardi Ave – This site serves one purpose and that’s to get Packers news out to Packers fans. The articles are well written and give the reader all the information they will need regardless of the topic. They also feature writers from other teams giving their point of view, in a non-antagonist way (something I’m not used to). This gives the reader a different opinion you normally wouldn’t hear. There are numerous links for fans to find other sites, and the site isn’t visually busy like so many others. I get the idea that Lombardi Ave doesn’t care about frills, they just want to get to the point.

Check out The Sports Riot, and especially his series on Green Bay, you’ll love it. I know I’ve got the site bookmarked now.

And while you’re at it, Like Lombardiave.com on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
