Today is the day for Packers fans to be considered to star in a planned television series … check out the post below and get on over to the casting call if you are really interested.

The information is below in a couple of other posts that I put up here on lombardiave.com.

Read below and get on out there …

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the story below about the production, “Cheeseheads” and their search for Packers fans from Wisconsin to star in the show that is being created by the folks at “Good Clean Fun.” The company is developing a TV series starring none other than Packers fans – folks who represent the good life and people of Wisconsin.

Well, the casting call just got a bit closer.

The company is bringing its efforts right to The Stadium View Bar at 1963 Holmgren Way, Green Bay, Thursday, Dec. 6 … in fact, the company is sending “producers from MTV’s Run’s House, Life of Ryan, and Style’s Tia and Tamera in search of passionate Wisconsinites with BIG personalities” to star in the new series. The producers will be in Green Bay on that single day from 4-9 p.m.

Their only requirements? See if you meet these qualifications:

• Are you proud to hail from the great state of Wisconsin?

• Do you love beer, brats, and Sundays at Lambeau Field?

• Are you the ultimate Cheesehead?

If you think you’ve got it, attend the casting call. If you want more information about the company, the series and the casting call, visit http://www.goodcleanfunllc.com.

In the meantime, you can also check out more in the previous post here on lombardiave.com … see below.

Packers fans are unique in their dedication, loyalty and passion. The world over knows this and it is being highlighted by Good Clean Fun, a production company that is in the process of developing a television series in which they will follow Packers fans.

D.J. Feldman, the casting director for the series, “Cheeseheads” (that’s what it’s being called at this point) said they are looking for video submissions from Packers fans who feel they are ultimate die-hard followers of the team. But Feldman said they are looking not only for the die-hard fans, but people who also represent “all things that are Wisconsin.”

By that he means hard working, true-to-their-values Wisconsinites who also love the Packers.

“Ninety-nine percent of the people who live in Wisconsin are Packers fans and we’re looking for people who are friendly – that is what makes these people special and why they are so proud of their state and the Packers,” Feldman said in a phone interview with Lombardiave.com.

In all types of weather, Packers fans enjoy games at Lambeau Field. Raymond T. Rivard photograph

Feldman said that because Packers fans’ dedication is so multi-generational that the ease with which they should be able to find great stories and great people through the casting call is one of the reasons he feels this could be a highly successful series.

“We’re looking for the best stories and the best people. We’re receiving replies every day,” he said. However, the casting call-out to Packers fans is not complete. The call-out will continue until Monday, Nov. 19, despite the notice below that says Nov. 16.

So, if you think you’ve got that special quality that would make for a great story on television, get the video camera out and put together a piece to send in. The information for submissions is below.

The cheeseheads series will certainly contain a lot of humor, but Feldman is hoping that the compelling stories will illustrate the complexity and honor that each of the fans featured bring to the table.

When the actual production begins will be up to the production and broadcasting companies. However, Feldman said that once the casting portion is complete, the rest of the production schedule usually moves along quite quickly.

For more information about the project and what you need to do to get involved, see the press release below:

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to like Lombardiave.com on Facebook and follow us Twitter.

If you are an Arizona Cardinals or Green Bay Packers fan, check out the map. The hodgepodge of areas across the country who will have access to this game on FOX is rather bizarre.

Surprises occur every day. In our personal lives, our friends and neighbors do funny and strange things; in our worldly interests of politics, entertainment and sports, there are many things that allow us to cock our heads, raise an eyebrow and say, “Wow.”

That occurred this morning when I read the headline that Larry McCarren, the well-known, respected and well-liked former Packer-turned-journalist, announced he would be leaving WFRV, Channel 5, out of Green Bay.

He’s been with the station for 24 years and is the sports director. His final newscast is tomorrow, Friday, March 30. With his departure, officials at the television station said that the status of his “Larry McCarren’s Locker Room” program is unknown.

Station management earlier this month said the future of the show, which would be entering its 25th season, was under discussion.

McCarren, the former Packers lineman, has also been the color commentator on Packers Radio Network for the past 18 years, working his first couple of years with the late Jim Irwin and Max McGee and with Wayne Larrivee for more than a decade.

McCarren said he would continue in that capacity.

That game will be rebroadcast tonight on the NFL Network ... should you want to watch.

Packers fans might not want to watch, or if you do you might want to cover your eyes. Giants fans rejoice.

Tonight, Monday, Jan. 9, 7:30 p.m. (Central time), NFL Network will rebroadcast the 2007 NFC Championship Game played at Lambeau Field. The Giants would go on in an epic upset of the previously unbeaten New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past six year, we don’t have to tell you what happened in this game … and if you have indeed been living under that proverbial rock … then you might want to watch.

Oh yeah, you might remember that this was also Brett Favre’s final game as a member of the Green Bay Packers …

And another thing, there were many players who are current members both teams who played in that 2007 game. Many of them remember the ecstasy of victory and the agony of defeat. For the Packers, a few of those on the down side were Chad Clifton, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, and Charles Woodson.

However, there was one player who was dressed and on the Packers’ sidelines that day ready to play, but didn’t get a single snap …

Aaron Rodgers.

The 19th annual ESPY Awards are scheduled tonight on ESPN at 9pm ET. It’s another exciting evening of Green Bay Packer sightings on a nationally televised awards show.

The Green Bay Packers (Team/Players) are nominated as follows:

Best Team

Auburn Football

Boston Bruins

Dallas Mavericks

Green Bay Packers

San Francisco Giants

Texas A&M Women’s Basketball

Best Male Athlete

Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR

Rafael Nadal, Tennis

Dirk Nowitzki, NBA

Aaron Rodgers, NFL

And, in the category of Best NFL Player, both Clay Matthews and Aaron Rodgers are nominated.

There should be plenty of great clips reflecting on the amazing 2010 season, and we can expect to see several Packer players in attendance. But, not every team member was invited to attend.

Per Twitter, we pretty much know who will be in Los Angeles and which players will be watching the show from home.

Which brings me to this – Tom Crabtree, (the tatted-up; green- mo-hawk- wearing; music-loving; fan fave) TE #83 of the Packers is hosting his first ever live-stream broadcast of himself watching the ESPYS from his home. That’s right, you have the opportunity to “Watch Tom Watch the ESPYS”. The link below was provided for all who would like to experience this unique opportunity.

Watch Tom Watch the ESPYs” Tonight at 9/8c on Livestream! http://t.co/o5BjUJx Special Guest Appearances, Q&A and MUCH MORE!!!!!

Watch the shenanigans of Green Bay Packers Tight End Tom Crabtree! Random stuff for fun!

If you are currently on Twitter and follow Tom Crabtree, you know, we’re in for some entertainment.

As always, it’s a GREAT day to be a Packer fan! GO PACK GO !!

If you’re still awake tonight, check into the Jimmy Kimmel Live at about 11:30 p.m. as Aaron Rodgers is scheduled as a guest.

No doubt, Rodgers is expected to be asked about the several ESPYs for which he and the Green Bay Packers have been nominated.

Rodgers has been nominated for Best Male Athlete, while he and Clay Matthews have also been nominated as Best NFL Player. In addition, Mike McCarthy is has been nominated as Best Coach and the Packers are up for Best Team. Any wonder?

The ESPYs will be held July 13.

Kimmel, with his sarcastic comedy, is sure to have some good questions of Rodgers, who has always been a good interview. Look for Rodgers, with his own wit, to insert a few barbs of his own.

Again, gather around the TV at about 11:30 p.m. or fire up the DVR … it should be interesting.
