It’s possible the Packers will go into April’s draft without these three instrumental players in the fold. Does that mean the team’s brass turns their eyes to the receivers who will be available or do they continue the recent trend and go for either an offensive lineman or an impact defensive player when the team goes on the clock at the 2013 NFL Draft?

At today’s Senior Bowl set to start in just more than an hour – 3 p.m. CST – and broadcast live on the NFL Network, the Packers will no doubt have their eyes on the inside play of offensive and defensive linemen, but they might also have sets of eyes on the outside – taking a look at players like Louisiana Tech’s Quinton Patton, Oregon State’s Markus Wheaton, and Kansas State’s Chris Harper – all of these players stood out during practices this past week. Clearly, the Packers won’t be the only teams eyeing these players, but if the Packers are ready to move on with new targets for Aaron Rodgers, these might be the players they are targeting.

All of them fit the mold from which the Packers like to build – small school players who can be picked up with mid- to late-round picks. Players who work hard to prove themselves and have a hunger to impress.

Today’s game will go a long way in turning heads and impressing scouts. That’s why these players understand the importance of the game and why NFL official pay close attention.
