Brett Favre’s always been quotable. That’s why when asked who’s better – Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck – Favre wasn’t afraid to sound off … and when he does everyone listens.

And in addition to providing his opinion about which of the two top NFL Draft picks was best, Favre also talked a bit with Deion Sanders about the New Orleans Saints, Bountygate, and how it all applied to him.

Yesterday the former Packer, Jet and Vikings great gave his short answers on the two topics – RG3 and he didn’t care, respectively.

“Griffin, he’s smaller, but if I was starting a team, I’d probably of went with RG3 just because, if they can’t protect you, you got to protect yourself,” Favre told NFL Network in an interview with Deion Sanders.

And as for the Saints and the off-season suspensions that resulted from Bountygate, Favre said he simply didn’t care. What bothered him most was the fact that the Vikings didn’t win the championship game. He told Deion that the important thing was that the Saints tried to take him out of the game, but failed. He also said that there had been plenty of other teams that had attempted to take him out and also failed.

“My feeling, and I mean this wholeheartedly, I really don’t care … They didn’t take me out of the game. They came close, but a lot of people have come close. I’m too stubborn to have come out, plus that was kind of a big game …”

More from the interview is being prepared to be broadcast next week as part of the network’s All Access program.

Teee-Bow

And why not? Yes, Aaron Rodgers is this year’s clear-cut Most Valuable Player (with apologies to all our Drew Brees supporters), but Tim Tebow is the story of the year.

Regardless of what happens in New England next week, Tebow has captured the hearts and minds of every National Football League fan – even Lady Gaga, who tweeted that he is the epitome of a champion (minus the expletive).

What more can be said? Well, not much more than what’s already been said … there will be thousands and maybe millions of words written about the Denver Broncos miracle win on the first play of overtime tonight – we’ll let them stand.

More importantly, let’s move on … yes, while everyone will be watching Tebow and Tom Brady next week, let’s not forget that the best team (Packers) and the best player (Aaron Rodgers) will also be hitting the field.

Maybe Deion Sanders knows more than most would expect.

You see, it was one month ago that Sanders went on record saying he felt the Bears had a better chance of challenging the Packers for the North Division title or at least to take over second best in the division.

At that time, Sanders was heard on the NFL Network saying that he “loved the Packers,” but it was the Lions who got a tongue lashing at the time … the other hosts on the program attacked Sanders and questioned his logic.

Well, after the last couple of weeks, Sanders is all of a sudden looking like a genius. With the Lions dropping two straight in the friendly confines of Ford Field, it looks like this team is simply ordinary. Losing to San Francisco and Atlanta, the Lions had little teeth in either its offense or defense.
