With calls for player strikes, fan walkouts and general disgust being bantered about via social media and the mainstream media, the league and referee’s union finally got down to brass tacks and came to an agreement about an hour ago, just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

According to profootballtalk.com, the league and union announced the agreement and said that work to gather a crew together for tomorrow night’s Thursday Night Game featuring the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. All other officials were to fly to gather their equipment in Dallas and to collect assignments for the weekend.

The new agreement will surely please all fans of the National Football League, many who felt the integrity of the game was being compromised through the use of the replacement officials. The replacements were brought together from a pool of referees that came from small college and high school ranks.
