Watching Lee take on the likes of Walter Payton – driving him out of bounds, into and over the bench, all the while locked nose-to-nose – it was a thing of beauty.

He was one tough hombre.

May 30, 1986 – Mark Lee signs a one-year contract and Packers head coach Forrest Gregg is pleased the defensive back will be able to participate in the team’s second minicamp of the year.

“That’s a real positive thing for our football team,” Gregg says. “I’m pretty happy with that.”

Lee goes on to enjoy one of his finest seasons, leading the team with a career-best nine interceptions in 1986.
