QUARTERBACK
This year’s group of quarterbacks leaves a lot to be desired at the top. I don’t see any one of the quarterback prospects as worthy of a top-ten pick, but when it comes to draft time, there will be plenty that will go early in round one.
Quarterbacks are always overdrafted, especially in the first round, but this may force talent at other positions to move down to the Packers at pick 21.
Bortles (No. 1) is raw but has the most potential. Bridgewater (No. 2) is the most accurate and safest choice out of the group, but he’ll need to find a home in a West Coast offense. I don’t see Manziel (No. 3) lasting long in the NFL without learning to become more of a pocket passer.
The Packers need competition at the position behind Aaron Rodgers. They may look at some of the late-round prospects, like Keith Wenning (No.15) or David Fales (No. 14), to add to their roster and develop as their backup of the future.
My Pick for the Packers: Keith Wenning in Round 7
