Despite the uncertain status of Jermichael Finley, who still hasn’t been cleared by the Packers’ doctors to be brought back to the team, there is still a lot of intriguing talent to go around here.
Rodgers, drafted in the third round this year, has some impressive pass-catching skills that he has been showing off during the offseason and appears to have a good shot at being the starter. Quarless isn’t a dynamic option by any means, but he is steady and has been in the system for multiple years so he has good value to the team.
Bostick (albeit in limited action) showed some skills last season before getting injured, and Taylor has been a valuable special teams player.
If there is a player on this list I would like to see make his way onto the roster somehow, it would be Lyerla. His pedigree before the draft skill-wise put him as a second-to-third round talent, but off-field issues contributed to him being undrafted. I think talent-wise he could definitely warrant a spot, but he apparently hasn’t been having the best camp so far, with him being demoted to working with the scout team for the latest practice.
If he doesn’t find a way to improve his standing fast, the practice squad would be a good bet because of that aforementioned talent. Perillo was actually working with the main groups while Lyerla had scout team duty, but I don’t believe he’ll make enough impact to make the team. Stoneburner has been around for a bit, but I’ve seen nothing of note about him, which probably is a bad sign for his chances.
