Defense
The Packers have shown two different faces on defense so far, but which is the real one? Is it the one we’ve seen the most of, where for about six straight quarters to open the season they were cut open at will?
Or the most recent one, which was able to shut things down on Geno Smith and makes some plays finally for two quarters?
Unfortunately it’s probably moreso the former, but the fact that the good play is most recent can give some hope for a turnaround.
There are definitely playmakers here, especially in the secondary, which can help to make up for their annoying inability to allow offenses to have their way with them for most of games.
In this matchup, it is dreaming to expect them to shut down players like Calvin Johnson or magically become great at stopping the run – and therefore Reggie Bush and Joique Bell – so don’t expect a huge day here.
I think they can step up and force a couple of turnovers, but the yardage is probably going to be up there again until they prove otherwise for a full game.
Prediction: 300 yards, 20 pts allowed, 2 turnovers
Verdict: Do Not Start
