Green Bay Packers receivers will reap benefits of Martellus Bennett signing

The Green Bay Packers took a huge step forward, offensively, with the free agent signing of Martellus Bennett, the confident, talented, sometimes outspoken tight end coming off a world championship and thirsting for more of that winning feeling.

There’s much work yet to be done by the Packers administration in bringing in players – most appreciated would be those on the defensive side of the football now. Though re-signing one or both running back Eddie Lacy and guard T.J. Lang would be good a good thing, we all know that it was the defense that failed Green Bay in 2016.

That said, the Packers offense, especially its stable of wide receivers, are poised to benefit from the presence of a guy like Bennett.

You can bet that Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams are all sporting big smiles these days. And you can bet that Aaron Rodgers also has a lift in his step.

But it’s the receivers who are going to benefit most.
