5. Defensive line

Additions: None

Losses: None

Adding more talent in the trenches is never a bad idea, and the Packers could do with some more help along the defensive line, especially with Letroy Guion’s four-game suspension.

Mike Daniels is a dominant force along the line, and second-year Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry showed starting potential last year. Depth is the biggest issue at this point.

Brian Price might see an increased role, but that will depend on how he performs over the summer. He could see more action while Guion sits, but an injury along the defensive line could leave the Packers running on empty.

As of right now, Ted Thompson hasn’t used free agency to bolster his defensive line. That may still happen, but many of the big names are gone.

Ted continues on with his draft-and-develop philosophy. With so many young pieces on the line, the develop part of his mantra becomes all the more important.

The pieces are there for the Packers to roll out a strong defensive line in 2017, but they would benefit from another addition or two.

Urgency: Moderate
