Cornerbacks (5)

Cornerbacks: Kevin King, Davon House, LaDarius Gunter, Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins

You’ll be hard pressed to find a position group the Packers struggled more in last year than cornerback. Any hopes of a bounce-back season rests on the shoulders of youth. Only Davon House has more than two years of NFL experience among this group. Think about that.

LaDarius Gunter, an undrafted rookie in 2015, emerged as the best of a bad bunch last year. He definitely has potential as number two or three corner on the depth chart, but throwing him into one-on-one matchups with the league’s premier wide receivers is a recipe for disaster.

Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins need to make their third seasons far better than their sophomore campaigns. Getting healthy is priority number one, and putting 2016 behind them shortly follows.

Many of the secondary’s hopes this year are pinned on Kevin King, a rookie, and Davon House, a talented corner who has experience in this defense, but far from a game-changer. Their additions to this defense can only be viewed as a positive, and King has a ton of potential, but a lot is being asked of them.

Youth will be the key.
