4. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have “won” the offseason by signing a number of superstars. Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters make the secondary a major strength, and Ndamukong Suh joins Aaron Donald along the defensive line. Brandin Cooks’ arrival gives the offense a boost after trading away Sammy Watkins. Can these new signings help take the Rams to the next level?

3. Minnesota Vikings

For now, I have the Vikings just ahead of the Rams. Minnesota could be the best team in the NFC this season. Kirk Cousins was a great signing. With second-year running back Dalvin Cook returning from a torn ACL, this offense has a ton of potential. Defensively the Vikings got better with first-round cornerback Mike Hughes. The offensive line is their only concern.

2. New England Patriots

As long as Tom Brady is in New England, the Patriots will always be the AFC’s top team. The 13-time Pro Bowler has showed no signs of slowing down, and the Patriots’ decision not to select a quarterback until the seventh round says a lot about their confidence in the 40-year-old this season.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

It would be wrong not to put the defending Super Bowl champions in first place. Do I think they will retain their NFC crown? Probably not. But with a healthy Carson Wentz, the Eagles should be among the top teams in the conference once again.
