Get there early

Ray Nitschke Field is located on the east side of the Don Hutson Center on Armed Forces Drive, and has seating for about 1,500 fans. The gates to the field open 90 minutes before the scheduled start of practice. But if you show up 90 minutes before, expect to wait in a decent-sized line. This is especially true for the first few practices.

The bleachers are about 10 rows deep, so even if you end up in the back row you will still get a great view. The close proximity to the field will give you an intimate experience that you won’t get in a stadium. Many of the drills are done right in front of the bleachers and players usually interact with the fans when there’s down time.

Bring something to sit on. A cushion, blanket, or cardboard. Something. The bleachers are hard and sitting through an entire practice can be a little rough.

As a backup plan be prepared to stand. If you can’t get seating inside the mini-stadium you can sometimes find a spot along the fence line in the end zone to watch practice. But fair warning, there are usually people waiting there as well with their coolers and family set up.

Concessions are sold at the field so packing a lunch isn’t necessary, but small bags and coolers are allowed.
