Wide receivers

From the very limited snap count we have seen from Davante Adams, he looks as ready as ever and all signs are pointing towards him having a major breakout season. Behind Adams on the depth chart, Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison are locks to make the roster. Then there is a massive battle between Trevor Davis, DeAngelo Yancey, J’Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown and Jake Kumerow.

We have yet to see Davis play this preseason, and that has put him in a position to seemingly have been passed up by every wide receiver mentioned, besides maybe Yancey. Valdes-Scantling is the bigger and faster version of Davis, with much more upside, putting Davis in a very tough spot to make the roster, especially with the way other receivers have performed this preseason as well.

Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown, and Kumerow have all performed very well this preseason, and look well on their way to making the 53-man roster. The odd man out has been J’Mon Moore, who was actually selected ahead of Valdes-Scantling and St. Brown in the 2018 draft. Moore has been plagued with drops so far this preseason. He dropped a beautiful long ball against the Titans from Boyle, as well as another deep ball against the Steelers.

Due to his draft position (fourth round) and his great potential, Moore will more than likely be a roster lock, regardless of the preseason drops.
