3. Offensive line

The offensive line did not allow a sack against a strong front four of the Buffalo Bills. A week after wreaking havoc on Minnesota, the Bills could only muster two sacks coming off corner blitzes.

Bryan Bulaga and David Bakhtiari held up well against the rushes of Jerry Hughes and Trent Murphy, while the interior of Corey Linsley, Lane Taylor and Byron Bell held the strongest part of the Bills D in check.

In the run game the Packers had their highest total on the season with 141 yards on the ground. While Jones’ elusiveness accounted for many of those yards, the offensive line paved the way opening large holes and cut back lanes.

The week started out looking shaky across the offensive line. Starting right guard Justin McCray’s shoulder injury was going to keep him out of the game and journeyman Byron Bell would start in his place. Also dealing with injury was starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga.

Bulaga’s back flared up on him in the first half of the Redskins game, and it was anyone’s guess how bad it was. Bulaga started and played well, while Bell started for McCray and played as well if not better than McCray.

The offensive line will be key all season long. And as long as Rodgers is hobbled, they will be even more important.
