Twelve steps towards fixing the Green Bay Packers.

The Green Bay Packers have inexcusably slipped into complete mediocrity despite having one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history under center.

The Packers have been blessed by the football gods who have given them Aaron Rodgers immediately after Brett Favre. They have been to three Super Bowls and won two with those quarterbacks. Now, in Rodgers’ 13th season, the Packers are somehow among the most mediocre teams in the NFL and don’t appear to be improving at all week to week.

The Packers are not a Super Bowl team, which is inexcusable. Mike McCarthy’s team have dealt with the same problems year after year and seemingly can’t fix them. There are issues all over the place with this Packers team.

The offense is uninspiring and stale. The defense is highly suspect. The special teams unit is among the worst in the NFL. Until the Packers are able to adequately place the proper pieces around Rodgers, they will continue to be among the league’s most disappointing teams year in and year out.

Not only is it possible McCarthy is replaced at head coach, the Packers need a new offensive coordinator, numerous new pieces on offense and special teams, and need to part ways with several longtime veterans. Aaron Rodgers will be 35 years of age in December. The clock is ticking.

Here are 12 steps towards fixing the Green Bay Packers.
