Special teams

Packers

Mason Crosby played the hero last week, hitting the game-winning field goal and participating in his first-ever Lambeau Leap. Crosby continues his good season. He has hit 11-of-12 field goals this season and is a perfect 16-of-16 on his extra points.

Punter JK Scott continues to be a weapon, flipping the field and helping out the Packers’ defense. After last week, he moved up to number four in the league with 48.6 yards per punt. Even when the Packers’ offense stalls out deep in their own territory, Scott is able to get the team out of the hole and put the defense in a better position.

The return game leaves something to be desired. Darrius Shepherd had a tough night in his opening night as the Packers’ punt returner, fielding a punt with defenders too close and fumbling the ball away.

Raiders

The Raiders kicker is a familiar face to the Packers. Former Viking Daniel Carlson is having a decent season. He has kicked just five field goals, hitting four of them. He is also perfect on extra points, hitting all 13 attempts.

Punting for the Raiders is A.J. Cole. Cole has a solid punting average as well, averaging 47.2 yards per punt. As expected, he punted a lot better in domes. He’s played at Minnesota and Indianapolis, both of which have indoor stadiums. In those two games, he averaged 52.4 yards per punt. In the three games he’s played in an outdoor stadium, he averaged just 43.7 yards per punt. It will be interesting to see how well he punts at Lambeau this Sunday.

With Carlson’s track record and Cole punting in an outdoor stadium, I think the Packers’ special teams will have the advantage this Sunday.
