3. Aaron Rodgers

The Packers’ dynamic duo have been very important for the offense to finally get going. But the straw that stirs the drink is, and always will be, Aaron Rodgers.

After a slow start to the season, Rodgers is getting more comfortable and heating up. Rodgers didn’t have a perfect passing game like he did against the Raiders, but his 129.0 rating is not something to just ignore.

Rodgers is starting to enter the conversation for his third MVP award this year. He was masterful at the line recognizing the Chiefs defense and getting the offense into good plays. When the protection broke down, he was able to make throws very few on the planet can make.

In addition to his insane throw to Jamaal Williams, Rodgers also made one of those throws only he and maybe one other person could make. On the first drive of the game, the Packers faced a third-and-nine when pressure broke through the line. Rodgers, moving to his right, made an off-balance throw 40 yards downfield to a diving Jake Kumerow for a first down.

Last week proved Rodgers doesn’t have to do too much in this scheme. He can sit back, allow the scheme to get guys open, and pick apart the defense. This week showed that when he has to, Rodgers still has a ton of magic in his off-schedule plays.
