3. Mason Crosby

When you account for one third of the team’s scoring plays, you earn a spot on the list. Mason Crosby was first to get the Packers on the board with his 54-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

Crosby has been solid all season up to this point. He has had to deal with a lot this year. Bigger than dealing with the kicking competition in training camp, Crosby has been helping his wife battle cancer.

Crosby is as fine of an example as there is as what it means to be a professional. Despite all he has been dealing with, he has stood tall and made kick after kick for the Packers.

Yes, the Packers were throughly dominated in the game. Joey Bosa and crew made life difficult for the Packers and their plans. He made an All-Pro left tackle look like a rookie. But this is one loss and only the second in nine weeks.

This game reminds me of the Buffalo Bills game from 2014 when the Packers went into to Buffalo and could get nothing done on offense. The Packers lost that one to a closer score than Sunday, but it had the same feel. A good team that may have underestimated a team they should have beat.

There’s no need to overreact to the loss. As Rodgers stated after the game: “This is a good slice of humble pie for us”.  With the prideful bunch this team is, I think that loss will stick with the team and motivate them to be better.

Next up for the Packers is a Carolina team without its former MVP, before a bye. The Packers can’t look ahead to the time off and must take the anger and embarrassment of this week’s loss out on the Panthers.
