Packers: 3 potential Davante Adams tag-and-trade destinations
Los Angeles Chargers
Again, the theme here is we’re only including AFC teams. Would the Packers be willing to trade Adams to an NFC team? Unless they were given an offer too good to turn down, it would seem highly unlikely.
Let’s talk about the Los Angeles Chargers. While the Chargers fell just short of a playoff berth this season, with the talent they have, they should be contenders every year.
Young quarterback Justin Herbert is a star. And he’s on a rookie deal.
The Chargers’ defense needs some work in the offseason, but with $57.13 million in cap room, they can make some signings to help turn things around.
Mike Williams is a free agent this spring so wide receiver is a need for the Chargers. But they do still have Keenan Allen. With Adams, the Chargers would have two of the best route-runners in the NFL on the same team. A superstar duo for their young quarterback to throw to.
Cap space isn’t an issue for the Chargers. For a team with a young star at QB on a rookie deal, now is the time to go all-in and make some big moves to take that next step. Adding a player like Adams would take the Chargers’ offense to another level. It would cost them at least a first-round pick, but you’re not finding a player who can make an instant impact like Adams with the 17th overall selection this year.
