Packers: 3 free agents who can be this year’s De’Vondre Campbell
Julio Jones, WR
Julio Jones is a future Hall-of-Famer. One of the greatest wide receivers of his generation. A seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro, Jones was unstoppable in the prime of his career.
However, he struggled to stay healthy last year with the Tennessee Titans and is now entering his age-33 season.
There is no denying that Jones’ best football is behind him, but that doesn’t mean he can’t help a Packers team in win-now mode.
The biggest concern is Jones’ recent injury history. He has missed 14 games since the start of 2020. However, when Julio has been healthy, he has been productive.
Green Bay’s wide receiver corps features a lot of talented but inexperienced players like Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Amari Rodgers. All three could become important players for the Packers, but it can take time for young players to develop.
In Jones, the Packers would be getting a player who can help immediately and knows what it takes to deliver in big games at key moments.
Jones is only three years removed from a 1,394-yard, six-touchdown season for the Atlanta Falcons.
Injuries have been an issue the two seasons since, but on an affordable one-year deal, why not take that risk? Jones can help this offense.
He would be catching passes from Aaron Rodgers. If Julio could stay healthy, he could have a bounce-back year and help the Packers push for another Super Bowl.
