Adrian Amos

Adrian Amos has been a key starter in Green Bay’s defense over the past few years. He is in year four with the Packers and is yet to miss a game, having started all 58 in the regular season.

However, set to become a free agent in the spring, Amos may be playing his final season in Green Bay.

The veteran hasn’t been at his best so far in 2022 and has made some uncharacteristic mistakes.

Normally strong in coverage, Amos hasn’t played as well in this area of his game. According to Pro Football Reference, Amos has allowed 77.8 percent of passes to be completed in his coverage, while quarterbacks have a passer rating of 117.1 throwing his way.

They are his worst numbers in those categories since signing with the Packers in 2019.

Despite that, Amos is still an excellent player and could be looking for a big long-term deal in the offseason.

The issue is not only that the Packers are limited in cap space, but they also don’t tend to give long-term deals to players nearing 30 — Amos turns 30 next April.

Having already picked up Darnell Savage’s fifth-year option, the Packers may be looking for a new starter at safety if Amos signs elsewhere in free agency.
