It. Has. Happened. The Green Bay Packers have traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets.

As expected, the Packers and Jets have finally come to an agreement for the four-time MVP.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Packers and Jets have swapped picks in the first round. Green Bay now owns the No. 13 overall pick, with New York moving down to No. 15.

The Packers also receive a second-rounder and sixth-rounder this year, along with a conditional pick in 2024. It starts as a second-round choice, but will improve to a first if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the snaps for the Jets.

An absolutely huge victory for the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers trade: Packers have absolutely fleeced the Jets

Hats off to Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst. He emerges from this trade as the winner.

First, he has upgraded Green Bay's first-round choice this year. The move from No. 15 to No. 13 is significant, as it moves the Packers ahead of the New England Patriots. It adds greater flexibility to any draft-night trade discussions they may have.

It becomes easier for the Packers to move into the top 10, or more expensive for another team to trade up with Green Bay.

Where Gutekunst wins big-time is with the conditions on the 2024 pick. They have worked out a low bar for that selection to become a first-rounder.

In an absolute worst-case scenario, the Packers will receive a second-round pick from the Jets in 2024. If we assume Rodgers plays fewer than 65 percent of the snaps, there's a good chance it's a high second-round choice.

Here's the best part: Rodgers could play 65 percent or more of the Jets' snaps and they still might not make the playoffs. That would net Green Bay a top-20 first-round pick in 2024.

Credit to Brian Gutekunst and the Packers. They were made to wait to get the trade over the line, but they got a great deal from the Jets.
