The Green Bay Packers took care of business to end the regular season, earning a spot in the NFC playoffs as the No. 7 seed.

They’ll have a tough matchup on Wild Card Weekend, as they’re on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, who were a perfect 8-0 at home in the regular season.

Dallas also covered the spread in six of those games, and the team has one of the best offenses in the NFL. Can Jordan Love and Green Bay keep up and potentially pull off a major upset?

Oddsmakers aren’t sold, but that doesn’t mean you can’t back the Packers in some capacity. Here are the latest odds and my best bet for this wild card matchup:

Packers vs. Cowboys key players to watch

Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love: Jordan Love has been amazing to end the 2023 season, throwing for 18 touchdowns and just one interceptions over the final eight weeks. Love is going to need to have a big game to keep up with a Dallas team that leads the NFL in points per game at home.

Jaire Alexander: Will Alexander shadow CeeDee Lamb in this one? The Packers need their star corner to be on top of his game if they’re going to slow down this high-powered Dallas offense. Alexander played in just seven games this season due to injury.

Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott: Prescott was a legit MVP candidate until Lamar Jackson ran away with the award, but he still finished the season with a league-best 410 completions and 36 touchdown passes. He’s a handful to deal with at home, posting a 22-to-3 touchdown to interception ratio.

CeeDee Lamb: Lamb finished right behind Tyreek Hill in the leaders for receiving yards this season, and he enters this game on a heater, catching four scores over the last three weeks. If he has a big game, Green Bay is going to be in trouble.

Packers vs. Cowboys prediction and pick

Dallas’ dominance at home is well known, but let’s not sleep on the Packers as an underdog, as they’ve gone 6-4 in that spot this season.

The Cowboys’ opponents at home haven’t exactly been the toughest – they’ve played the three NFC East teams (including when Philly was struggling to end the season), the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Detroit Lions at home.

The team was the beneficiary of a controversial call against Detroit to keep a perfect record at AT&T Stadium.

While I think it’s going to be tough for Green Bay to pull off the upset, the team’s offense has really come on over the final few weeks, climbing to eighth in the NFL in yards per play. Dallas is No. 6 in that category.

I expect this game to see plenty of points with a beatable Green Bay defense (20th in yards per play allowed this season), but don’t sleep on the Packers to keep this within a touchdown. The team has just three losses by more than four points this season.
