They’re done. The Green Bay Packers season is over, ended by the foot of Kris Brown as time expired in a 24-21 loss to the Houston Texans. The loss dropped the Packers to 5-8 and three games out of the division lead with three to play. The playoff hopes of the Packers died much earlier than expected on a frigid day on Lambeau Field.
In the loss, the Packers were shredded through the air, with Matt Schaub passing for 414 yards. The Packers were shredded on the ground, with Steve Slaton rushing for over 100 yards. In the end, the Packers [...]

Stick A Fork In Them
Packers-Texans Preview
Tomorrow the Houston Texans make their first journey to Green Bay to take on the Packers at historic Lambeau Field. The Texans bring a 5-7 record into the game, identical to the Packers record. Unlike the Packers, however, the Texans are out of the playoff hunt, while the Packers are hoping for a miracle to win the division and get in to the playoffs. The Texans bring a potent offense with Sage Rosenfels and Matt Schaub leading the way at quarterback, while Andre Johnson is the big offensive threat. It looks like Al Harris will be in charge of defending [...]
Packers Boot Frost
The Packers released punter Derrick Frost earlier in the week after a disastrous season punting for the Packers. Frost, a former Washington Redskin, was signed a week before the season started after the Packers cut Jon Ryan. Frost was a horrible signing, plagued by mental lapses in his punting game.
The Packers have signed free agent Jeremy Kapinos to be their punter. The Penn State product has bounced around in his short NFL career. Hopefully, he’s not prone to the lapses that plagued Frost this season.
A Head of Cheez: Week 13
It is officially panic mode for the Green Bay Packers. Every single second in every game left on the schedule has to be played all-out. One more loss and a playoff appearance doesn’t seem likely at all. Their Week 13 matchup was against the 8-3 Carolina Panthers. The weather forecast for the game at Lambeau Field was the typical Frozen Tundra weather around this time of the season–cold, and some snow. Everything had to be right for Green Bay to pull out a huge win.
Unfortunatley, things went wrong. The defense wasn’t stepping up at all. In the first quarter they [...]
Is It Over?
First off, I, DJ, am back at Lombardi Ave. I would love to thank Scott from Raising Zona for taking over for me over the Thanksgiving holiday while I was caught up in some family business that needed to be taken care of.
Unfortunately, as I was taking care of my business, the Packers weren’t taking care of theirs with two tough losses to NFC South teams, making them 0-4 against that division for the year. The Packers last-minute 35-31 home loss to the Carolina Panthers came less than a week after getting shredded 51-29 by the New Orleans Saints on [...]
