C.J. Mosley - Inside Linebacker, Alabama, 6-2, 232 (4.65)

The Packers could look to improve the interior of their defense. A.J. Hawk and Brad Jones are both adequate starters at inside linebacker, but Green Bay’s defense has really lacked a true “thumper” since losing Desmond Bishop.

Mosley is the top inside linebacker in this year’s draft. He plays aggressive, isn’t afraid to lay a hit, and has the speed to run sideline-to-sideline. Mosley is the heart of Alabama’s defense and could be the physcial player the Packers need to upgrade their defense.

The only downside to Mosley is he’s a bit undersized and may struggle in the NFL shedding blockers. He’ll need to add bulk to effectively play in the middle of a 3-4 defense.

Let’s go for HaSean Clinton- Smith. Safety is such a requirement to improve the defense. What kind of a name is Ha Ha, anyway? It’s too bad we can’t reap all this young talent. Tuitt is a monster much needed to be an impact player. These are my first two choices.

Yeah, I’m with you, Peter. I think both Clinton-Dix and Tuitt would be great fits in the Packers defense. I like the TEs in this draft, but I don’t think Green Bay needs to spend a first round pick on one. I’d like them to go defense in the first round, but that’ll be three years in a row going defense in round one.

Well 3 years in a row and another year without a good defense. I wonder.
