Jerry Kramer: Do your part to get him inducted into the PFHOF

facebooktwitterreddit

There are so many wrongs that need to be righted in this world that it’s sometimes difficult to know where to start – but we can start with Jerry Kramer.

For us Green Bay Packers fans, it’s pretty simple – you start with the fact that former Packers guard Kramer has not been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

You can do something about it and this week, allgreenbaypackers.com armed us with the information to do something about it.

Below you will find the information provided this week … how to go about contacting the Hall of Fame Seniors Committee which is about to start considering candidates for nomination.

Take a look at the information below and don’t hesitate, send your letters and emails and get the ball rolling.

Be very careful to follow the specific instructions and do your best to make this wrong a right …

And don’t forget to take a peek at the videos below from an interview Lombardiave.com conducted a while back …

Jerry Kramer leads the way during a Packers Sweep.

Here are the details:

How to help and  be eligible to win this football:

At this link, you’ll find a list of the Hall of Fame Voters, their email addresses, twitter accounts and mailing addresses. Right now, focus should be on the Senior Committee members (in bold).

We want you to contact the voters in a respectful, friendly manner. Don’t be aggressive or overly dramatic. I will provide some examples at the end of this post to use as templates for your own words or just edit and send.

For every communication you send, you will receive points. Each point will count as an entry in the contest.

1 point – send a tweet to a Hall of Fame Voter (Special focus on Senior Committee members at this time). You MUST include the hashtag #Kramer4HOF.

1 point – Share our Facebook post with your friends (see it below).

5 points – send an email to a Hall of Fame Voter (Special focus on Senior Committee members at this time). You MUST CC: AllGreenBayPackers@gmail.com.

10 points – mail a letter to a Hall of Fame Voter (Special focus on Senior Committee members at this time). You MUST take a picture of your addressed AND stamped envelope and email the pic to AllGreenBayPackers@gmail.com.

One winner will be selected at random. Contest runs for one week and ends midnight on Sunday June 15th. Winner will hopefully be announced Monday night (depending on how many entries we get and how long it takes to track them all).

Note: You can send to every voter, but only one of each type of communication per voter. Do NOT send 50 tweets or emails to the same person – that will do more harm than good and we will only count the first one as far as points for the contest goes.

What to do:

Be brief, respectful and polite in your emails or letters. They will not read a long note.

DO NOT USE ALL CAPS or multiple exclamation marks!!!!!  Do not scold them in any way.

Focus on the unfairness of Kramer being the only member of the NFL 50th Anniversary team not being in the Hall of Fame. Who can possibly argue against that?

No more than one tweet, email or letter to each of the voters. SPAMMING them will be counter-productive.

Subject: Make Jerry Kramer a Hall of Famer

Dear Mr./Mrs.  {HOFvotername}

I’m just sending this brief note as a reminder that Jerry Kramer is the only member of the NFL’s 50th Anniversary team that is not in the Hall of Fame.

Whatever the reasons for this, isn’t it time to right that wrong?

Jerry is revered among Packer faithful and respected throughout the league for his talent and heart. It is time his contributions to football are recognized, and he take his rightful place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I hope you’ll give it some serious consideration.

Sincerely,

{Your name}

Sample Letter:

Dear Mr./Mrs.  {HOFvotername}

I am writing to encourage the consideration of Jerry Kramer for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Jerry is a member of the NFL’s 50th Anniversary All-Time team and is the only member of that team not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was rated #1 in the recent NFL Network’s Top 10 list of players not in the Hall of Fame.

Their fourth-round pick in 1958, Jerry played his entire career for Green Bay. A 3-time Pro Bowler & 5-time First-Team All-Pro. In addition to being called “the best guard in the game” by Vince Lombardi himself, Jerry also served as the team’s place kicker in 1962, 1963, and part of 1968.

Jerry is revered among Packer faithful and respected throughout the league for his talent and heart. It is time his contributions to football are recognized, and he take his rightful place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Make Jerry Kramer a Hall of Famer

Respectfully submitted,
