Enter the five must-see players in the Green Bay Packers’ preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.

Unless the Lambeau Field turf has recently been tarmacked, the Packers preseason will finally get underway Friday night. The Cleveland Browns come to town in the first of four exhibition games.

Whether Aaron Rodgers and the starters will be on the field is yet to be seen, but any appearance will be brief. The focus will be on those on the fringe of the roster, as well as the young players. This is the rookies’ first taste of NFL action.

A number of areas of this Packers team will be put under the microscope in the coming weeks. First is the offense. After an anaemic performance last season, can the unit reestablish itself as one of the league’s very best? What about the changes made to the defense, notably Clay Matthews’ move back outside? For that to happen, the inside linebacker play must be better.

These questions won’t be answered in preseason, but we’ll begin to see the impact of the offseason changes.

Up first are the Browns. Which five Packers should you watch closely in the preseason opener?
