I am an award-winning journalist and photographer and have been editor of two weekly newspapers in northern Wisconsin for the past 23 years.
I cut my teeth as a sportswriter with THE-BEE, a weekly newspaper in Phillips. From there I became editor, spending 10 years in that seat. I moved on to The Lakeland Times, Wisconsin’s largest semi-weekly newspaper, in May 2000. For the past 13 years, I have been involved in many successes, including moving the company from a “cut and paste” production methodology to electronic pagination; also overseeing the changeover from film production to all digital photography.
My love of the Green Bay Packers moved me to write columns for select websites in the mid- to late-1990s under the pen name of Apackphan. The opportunity to continue with lombardiave.com under that same pen name has been awesome. Getting back into blogging on the heels of the Packers’ world championshipin 2010, has allowed me to renew the love of a team I have followed since I was a young boy.
