"Redskins 16, Packers 13–adding insult to injury: By the time K Gano’s game-winning 33-yard field goal was sailing through the uprights giving the Washington Redskins an improbable 16-13 overtime victory at FedEx Field Sunday, the Packers’ best players were mere spectators and in varying degrees of pain. TE Finley was leaning on a pair of crutches, after a right knee/hamstring injury. Sack-meister LB Matthews was standing on the sideline as his problematic left hamstring having flared up again. DE Pickett was sitting on the bench after his right ankle having been rolled up on the second play of the game.  QB Rodgers, still dazed from a helmet-to-helmet hit on his final pass, an interception to LaRon Landry, that would later be diagnosed as a concussion. All this when the Packers already had two starters on injured reserve (1,200-yard running back Ryan Grant, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 1, and rookie strong safety Burnett, who went down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last week against Detroit) and were playing without four more key players: starting right tackle Tauscher (shoulder), starting inside linebacker Barnett (wrist), nickel linebacker Chillar (shoulder) and nickel cornerback Shields (calf). “In 10 years, I’ve never seen it like this before,” Pickett said, shaking his head. “It’s definitely an issue right now. We have a lot of injuries. But we’re supposed to win that game regardless.”"

"Redskins 16, Packers 13 (overtime): The Packers kept piling up the yards but couldn’t score. The Washington Redskins were left with a surmountable deficit, which they overcame to win yet another game that came down to the last play. LaRon Landry’s diving interception set up Graham Gano’s 33-yard field goal 6:54 into overtime Sunday, and the Redskins battled back from a 10-point fourth-quarter hole for a 16-13 win over the Packers. The result left both teams with 3-2 records, but rebuilding Washington feels a whole lot giddier about its mark than a Green Bay team that’s supposed to have Super Bowl aspirations. The Redskins were thoroughly dominated for much of the game, the defense allowing 444 yards and the offense allowing McNabb to get sacked five times.  Aaron Rodgers completed 27 of 45 passes for 310 yards with one touchdown and one interception. RB Jackson ran for 115 yards on 10 carries including a 71-yard first-quarter run that set up Green Bay’s only touchdown.  The bang up Packers also had TE Lee (shoulder), TE Finley (knee), DE Pickett (ankle) and OLB Matthews (hamstring) leave with injuries. Here’s the best way to show how the tide turned: The Redskins punted on seven of their first eight possessions, while the Packers’ last seven possessions ended with four punts, two missed field goals and an interception. Green Bay was also hurt by nine penalties for 63 yards."

"Game notes: The moment–While the Packers could get almost no pressure on McNabb with Matthews on the sideline, the Redskins successfully pressured Rodgers. On the big play in overtime, Rodgers had pressure in his face and threw off his back foot. The ball was behind Jennings and Landry swooped in for an easy interception. The player--The Redskins have precious few weapons surrounding McNabb but Santana Moss remains ageless. He finished with seven catches for 118 yards. The number--15.4: That’s Green Bay’s conversion rate on third down. The Packers finished a woeful 2-of-13 on the move-the-chains down. The division--The Bears (4-1) are alone again in first place with a 23-6 win at Carolina, even though Todd Collins threw four interceptions. The Lions (1-4) snapped a 10-game losing streak by blowing out the Rams 44-6. Minnesota (1-2) visits the Jets (3-1) on what should be a ratings blockbuster on Monday night. Injury report--The injury situation went from bad to worse. Already without linebackers Barnett (wrist) and Chillar (shoulder), safety Burnett (knee), cornerback Shields (calf), Tauscher (shoulder) and Grant (ankle), the Packers lost Finley (hamstring ligament) after Lee’s fumble, Pickett (ankle) exited on the ensuing snap when the Redskins’ offensive tackle dove and landed on Pickett’s ankle, and Lee (stinger) was lost on his touchdown. Then, Matthews jogged off the field with a hamstring that might be slightly pulled. It’s early, but Finley and Matthews probably won’t be available for next week against Miami but neither injury is considered as serious as Finley’s knee sprain last year and Matthews’ hamstring pull on Family Night."
