Packers vs. Lions: Play by play

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Detroit Lions tonight 27-20, an ugly win that put the Packers a full game ahead of the Chicago Bears for the NFC North Division lead.

Utilizing a solid running game and just enough big plays, many them by Randall Cobb, the Packers overcame a 14-0 deficit and a dominant performance by the Lions in the first half to take over the game in the second half when they scored 17 points. Cobb caught seven passes for 102 yards to lead the Packers and though Calvin “Megatron” Johnson caught 10 passes for 118 yards they kept him out of the end zone and contained him for the most part.

The Packers’ win tonight sets up a huge showdown with the Chicago Bears next week in Chicago. With a win, the Packers would clinch the division title. A loss would put the Packers and Bears in a tie for the lead.
