Last week, the NFL preseason schedule was released and we here at Lombardiave.com provided you with a look at the schedules for all the NFC North Teams … but we neglected to give you the entire league schedule for easy viewing.
Well, that’s before today … I caught a glimpse of the neatly packaged schedule over at a nice site called NFLnewsdesk.com. They did all the work, so I’m passing their website address on to you to take a click on over to see everything else they have to offer.
With that said, you might not be too excited about the preseason. Well, I must say, to me, it’s one of the more exciting times of the year. Sure, you only get to see the first-teamers for a short while, but what’s fun is watching the draft picks and undrafted picks as they fight for a spot on the roster. You know, they give ‘er when they get into the games and it’s times like these when you get to watch, for the first time, players who emerge.
Do you remember the first time you saw Brett Favre in an exhibition back in 1992? I do. Do you remember when you saw Aaron Rodgers play at Lambeau Field for the first time? How about Clay Matthews? Heck, some of you may have even seen Bart Starr for the first time … well, maybe not … but maybe James Lofton?
It’s not so much the score of the games during the preseason. What you’re looking for is effort and depth. If the second, third and fourth strings can keep the team in a game, that’s a pretty good indication of how well the team will do if the starters go down with injury during the regular season. And we in Green Bay know all about injuries, don’t we?
