It all comes down to opportunities in this game. With RB James Starks out, rookie RBs Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin will be expected to carry the load this week. FB John Kuhn will be available to help block for and spell them but Lacy and Franklin are going to have to be sound in pass pro, absolutely, positively mistake-free from a ball security standpoint, and they’ll have to make the most of every opportunity they receive. We’ve all seen both of these guys make plays. Franklin in particular looked really good against Cincinnati before the bye. They’re both probably going to have to make plenty of plays on Sunday. I’ll be watching to see how they handle the pressure and how effective they are without the ball in pass pro assignments and blocking.
