CORNERBACK: Where will Micah Hyde play?

The Packers seem set with the top three spots at cornerback in Sam Shields, Tramon Williams, and Casey Hayward. A solid triumvirate at defensive back.

However, the Packers also like what they have in last year’s top defensive rookie in Micah Hyde. He’s a physical defensive back who excels roaming the field as a nickelback and making plays near the line of scrimmage.

Hyde may challenge Hayward for the nickel spot, or he may find himself being used in more creative ways in the Packers defensive scheme.

Hyde may get some looks at safety to provide depth behind starters Morgan Burnett and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. There is also rumor the Packers may use Hyde at inside linebacker in nickel packages in obvious passing situations.

The way the Packers use Hyde in Capers’ system will go a long way in shaping the look of their secondary this season. In the very least, Hyde gives the Packers some versatility and creativity on defense.

However, Hyde’s value along with the top three corners on the roster, may make things difficult for bubble players like Davon House and Jarrett Bush.

There may not be room for both of them on the roster this season, especially when you factor in sixth-round pick Demetri Goodson.
