Safety (5)
Starters: Morgan Burnett, Micah Hyde
Backups: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Sean Richardson, Chris Banjo
Cut: Tanner Miller, Charles Clay
For now, the starting safeties are Burnett and Hyde, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Clinton-Dix saw more playing time as the season progressed. He’s made plenty of plays in the preseason and has really shown a willingness and physicality against the run. In the very least, Clinton-Dix should come on the field when Hyde moves to corner in dime defense.
Richardson and Banjo have both been solid this summer and have each had their moments in the preseason. They’re both also great on special teams, so I think there’s room for both of them on the final roster.
